These are the department shops! The dept recently purchased this building which was previously owned by a heavy equipment maintenance company which sadly went out of business due to lockdowns during the rona. The two large bays already had 18,000lb hoists and an elaborate tool organization setup and was ideal for the dept's needs. The smaller bay houses the mechanic's rig, while the two large bays are used for the various apparatus that may need maintenance or repairs. The building officially went into service 2 weeks ago.
The department's head mechanic uses this 2011 RAM 4500 with a custom 10 ft flatbed as his work truck. It is equipped with a hideaway gooseneck hitch for pulling the departments 45ft equipment hauler, a 6 inch suspension lift, and 37 inch tires, and stores a first aid kit, road side assistance equipment, and a wide variety of basic tools. It is housed at the department shops a short distance from Station 1. Credit to Michael P for the RAM cab design
